Flood Zone Maps

To find out if your property is in a floodplain, contact the Planning and Building Department at 904-825-1065. The Planning and Building Department can also give you elevation certificates from 1992 through the present.

If you have a flooding or drainage problem, the City will investigate it. Call the Planning and Building Department or the Public Works Department at 904-825-1040.

Flood Hazard Information

As a public service to the community, the St. Augustine Planning and Building Department provides the following Flood Hazard Information upon request:

  • Base Flood Elevations as shown on the St. Johns County FIRM maps
  • Determination if the property is in an “undeveloped coastal barrier” or “otherwise protected area”
  • Elevation certificates for structures built after 1991 and located within a Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA)
  • Historical flooding information
  • Information on flood problems, such as predicted future flooding and local drainage problems
  • Information on how flood waters can be anticipated to be in areas of the community
  • Whether a property is located within a SFHA as shown on the St. Johns County Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM)
