Residential Services
Solid Waste provides once-a-week service for residential collection of garbage, yard waste, and recycling. Please view the Solid Waste Services Guide (PDF) for more information on our services.

Trash Services
Residents should use the City-provided 65-gallon carts for household garbage and wet waste. One 65-gallon brown cart is provided per each single-family home. These are only for residential household trash, not to be used for yard waste or construction debris.
Times
Carts may be placed curbside after 7 p.m. the day before service, but before 7 a.m. the day of service and must be removed by 7 p.m. the day service is rendered.

Recycling Services
The city promotes and offers a "single-stream" recycling program, which enables the user to co-mingle multiple items such as:
- All paper
- Aluminum and steel cans
- Flattened cardboard
- Milk and juice cartons
- Plastic bottles and containers
- Tin

How to Prepare
Residents must empty and rinse containers prior to service, to eliminate contamination. One 65-gallon green cart is provided per each single-family home. These are only for household recyclables, not to be used for yard trash or construction debris.

Free Drop-Off Locations
- 601 Riberia Street - end of Riberia by Solid Waste Department and Waste Water Plant.
- North City – by the Las Palmas condos on San Marco.
- Red Cox Road by the Soccer Field, behind RB Hunt Elementary School
Yard Debris
Limbs and brush under 4 yards may be placed curbside. Loose debris such as grass clippings and leaves must be in bags or containerized to not exceed 50 pounds and 32 gallons, each.
Large Yard Waste
For large yard waste disposal such as stumps, logs and limbs over 2 inches in diameter, 50 pounds per container or 4 yards of total debris*, the homeowner is responsible for disposal. If a tree, lawn or landscaping service/company does the work, they must haul the debris or charges will apply.
Schedule
Wednesday is residential yard waste pick-up day, throughout the City. Yard waste must be contained and placed at the curb on Wednesday morning for pick-up.
Fees for Excessive Debris
If a resident is unable to dispose of 50 pounds per container or 4 yards of total debris, a removal fee may be assessed. Contact Solid Waste for oversize debris at 904.825.1049.
Construction/Demolition Debris
According to City Code, all contractors performing services related to tree removal or trimming, landscaping, and construction, including roofing, are required to remove all debris.
Dumpsters
You can request 30-yard roll-off dumpsters for clean-up of construction projects.
