Open Positions & Eligibility
We are currently accepting applications in person at City Hall or via email to apply@CityStAug.com, via fax at 904-825-1008, or mailed to Human Resources at P.O. Box 210, St. Augustine, FL 32085.
Applications are only accepted for positions that are listed. A resume may not be substituted for an application; however, you may attach a resume to provide supporting documentation of your work history. Applications need to be fully completed; please do not write "see resume." Incomplete applications will not be considered for employment.
Only those candidates matching the qualifications and selected to be interviewed will be contacted.
Please read the following carefully, so you are prepared if you are selected for employment:
- Many of the full-time positions require a Class B driver’s license or permit. A permit can be obtained by studying the commercial drivers license handbook and taking the written test at the DMV.
- You will need to provide proof of your education (degree, transcript, etc.).
- You will need to provide proof of past employment if those employers are no longer in business (tax/W-2 forms or letters from previous employers
Open Positions
Any open Full-time, Part-time/Contract, Fire Department or Police Department positions will be posted online or posted in the Human Resources Department at City Hall.
Submitting Applications
The application for Police Department employees including Communications Operators is different from the standard City application (PDF). Regardless of the position, however, you will need to save your completed application to your computer, cloud, or another active device. You can then sign and email the application as an attachment PDF file to email to Human Resources Applications.
You also have the option of printing the completed form and mailing it through the U.S. Postal Service or hand-delivering it to the Human Resources Department.

Unemployment
The City of St. Augustine does not handle unemployment claims. Individuals needing to file an unemployment claim must call 800-204-2418.
