Community Services

The City of St. Augustine is proud to announce its new Community Services Department, a centralized hub dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for all residents. This department streamlines vital services to serve our community more effectively.

The Community Services Department encompasses a wide range of functions, including:

Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA)

Driving revitalization efforts in designated areas, securing grant funding for capital improvement projects, and supporting programs like the "Fix-it-Up" residential home repair program. The City has three redevelopment areas within the Agency: HACRA, LCRA, WCCRA.

Community Outreach

Connecting at-risk individuals or individuals experiencing homelessness with essential resources and compassionate support, fostering a path towards stability and well-being. The establishment of the drop-in day center is a continued effort to offer individuals a sense of community, belonging, and placemaking. 

Mobility

Ensuring smooth and accessible movement throughout the city, offering a variety of transportation and parking options designed to support the needs and enhance the experience of all who live, work, and visit. This includes managing parking enforcement and the Historic Downtown Parking Garage, as well as all elements of the Mobility Plan for an easily accessible, pedestrian-friendly city.

Neighborhood Services

Empowering neighborhoods through initiatives like the Neighborhood Grant Program, fostering community bonds, and promoting a sense of pride and belonging. We're your central hub for community support and resources, dedicated to fostering vibrant, thriving neighborhoods and enhancing the quality of life for all residents across our historic city.

Special Events

Creating memorable experiences and fostering community spirit through a diverse calendar of events. When public property is used for activities and events—like film productions, parades, festivals, or weddings—a permit must be obtained through our team.
