The City Manager is responsible for the complete administrative management and delivery of city services and programs. The city manager, hired by the city commission, is the city's chief executive officer and acts as a liaison between the various departments of the government, the citizens of St. Augustine, and the city commission. All department heads, including the police and fire chiefs, report directly to the city manager.
David Birchim is the City Manager.
Meredith Breidenstein and Reuben Franklin serve as the Assistant City Managers.
The City Manager's office is located on the 4th Floor of City Hall, also known as the Lightner Museum building. When visiting the City Manager's office, use Elevator "A", found in the northeast corner of the courtyard at City Hall.
