The City of St. Augustine’s 43rd Annual Arbor Day Ceremony will take place at 10:00am on Friday, January 16, 2026, in Connor Park, located at 5 South Street, in the Old City South neighborhood. This year marks the City’s designation as a Tree City USA for 43 consecutive years.
The ceremony includes remarks by Mayor Nancy Sikes-Kline and Street Tree Advisory Committee (STAC) Chair, Fremont Latimer, planting of a Sand Live Oak tree by city officials, and the city’s Poet Laureate, Dr. Ann Browning Masters, will read a poem written to commemorate this event.
Parking is limited in the neighborhood, so walking or bike-riding is encouraged.
Free tree saplings will be distributed at the ceremony in Connor Park, as well from 10:00am to 2:00pm, while supplies last, via the 25 W. Castillo Drive drive-through lane, located on the north side of Francis Field. City staff will be giving away Persimmon, Red Cedar, Winged Elm and Longleaf Pine saplings.
