The City of St. Augustine is proud to announce the 2024 Nights of Lights Light-Up! Night ceremony honorees. Light-Up! Night is Saturday, November 23 with the lighting ceremony scheduled to begin at 6:30pm in the Plaza de la Constitución. The lighting tradition began in 2003 and involves two light switches: one for the holiday tree and the other for the canopy of oak trees lining the Plaza.
"It is my distinct honor to announce the St. Augustine Sister Cities Association will be represented this year in lighting the Nation’s Oldest City on Light-Up! Night,” Mayor Nancy Sikes-Kline announced. “I can’t think of a more appropriate way to recognize our long-standing relationship with Avilés, Spain, going back 100 years, than to ask for Sister Cities to light the Plaza this year.”
St. Augustine Sister Cities Association (SASCA) President, Consuelo Lippi, and Sister Cities 100th Anniversary Celebration Committee Chair, Len Weeks will light the Plaza and the holiday tree from the gazebo.
