Public tours tentatively scheduled to begin on Tuesday, October 29

On Monday, October 28, the City of St. Augustine is set to welcome the return of Spanish sailing vessel, Nao Trinidad, to the St. Augustine Municipal Marina, its US homeport.  It is anticipated that the ship will open the next day for tours, 10:00am through 7:00pm; however, should there be complications with the ship’s arrival, that schedule is subject to change.  The ship tentatively is scheduled to remain in St. Augustine through late November.

The Trinidad is a 150-ton, 93-foot replica of the flagship of the Magellan-Elcano Expedition that led to the first circumnavigation of the Earth, confirming for the first time that the Earth is round.  The ship boasts three masts and a bowsprit and is built of African hardwood and pinewood.  View the information packet here.

While in port, this floating museum will be open daily for guided and self-guided tours, including the ship's four decks, complete with information panels relating the history of the ship and the experience of Spanish sailors over 500 years ago.

Tickets are available for purchase in advance online at tickets.velacuadra.es.  Visitors to the Nao Trinidad may also purchase tickets dockside upon arrival.  There are no scheduled times for tours.
