1. How do I get the Resident Discount when parking at City meters or the Parking Garage?

As a St. Johns County resident, you can visit www.ParkStAug.com to complete the application for Resident Discount (ParkNow). You must upload a photo of your driver’s license and vehicle registration. Applications are typically processed within 3-5 business days. Once your application has been approved, your resident discount will apply automatically at the pay stations and in the mobile app when you enter your license plate.  Currently, the physical ParkNow card is the only way to get the discount at the Parking Garage. 

2. Do I need the St. Johns County resident discount if I have a disable placard?

No, per Florida State Statutes, those with a disabled placard or license plate are able to park free of charge at meters on public roadways. The City extends that to City lots and the Parking Garage.   When entering the Parking Garage please make sure the placard/plate holder is on display in your the vehicle.  

3. How do I purchase a ParkNow card for the parking garage discount and how do I reload funds?

ParkNow cards are available for purchase at 50 Bridge Street, St. Augustine, FL 32084. Lobby hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 4:30pm. Drive-thru hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 5:00pm. You cannot purchase or reload the ParkNow card online, you must go in person to this location.

4. Who is eligible for the St. Johns County resident discount?

All St. Johns County residents are eligible for the resident discount. To receive the St. Johns County resident discount, you must provide your driver’s license, vehicle registration, and proof of residency. Examples of proof of residency include a utility bill with your name and address or a deed.  If you work in downtown St. Augustine and are not a St. Johns County resident, please consider the monthly parking garage pass of $32.00 (plus tax) a month.

5. How can I update my vehicle's license plate number to my account?

To update your license plate number, you can contact the City's Parking Enforcement Supervisor, Tara Bennie at 904-825-1090 or via email at parking@citystaug.com.

6. Do Flagler College students and part-time residents qualify for the St. Johns County resident discount?

Yes, although they are not full-time residents, they do reside in St. Johns County part-time and therefore qualify. To register, they will need to provide their driver’s license, vehicle registration, and proof of residency. Proof of residency could be a utility bill with their name and address on it. You can apply at www.ParkStAug.com

7. Is the ParkNow card being phased out?

Due to the aging technology of the ParkNow Card and upgrades to the vendor’s services, the physical cards will eventually be phased out. The funds currently loaded to a ParkNow Card will not be lost, and there is no set expiration date at this time.  When the time comes, there will be a solution for accessing any remaining funds loaded on a ParkNow Card.  At a future time to be determined, we will no longer be issuing or recharging ParkNow Cards as they will be unnecessary for the discount.  

8. How do I get a resident discount if I don’t have a ParkNow card?

From your computer, tablet, or mobile device, go to www.ParkStAug.com and apply for the SJC resident discount.  Upload your proof of residency and vehicle registration on the website.  You do not have to apply in person.  If you qualify, your application will be approved within 3-5 business days.  Upon approval, you will receive the resident discount immediately when you enter your license plate number at the pay stations and kiosks when you pay to park in a city-managed parking lot or parking space.
