Residential Solid Waste Services Suspended Friday, November 11Staff performing neighborhood post storm assessmentsResidential solid waste services will be suspended on Friday, November 11. A limited number of City staff will be performing neighborhood post storm assessments to determine the potential volume of yard and residential debris.

City offices closed for Veterans Day holidayRecycling pickup rescheduledCity offices will be closed on Friday, November 11, in observance of the Veterans Day holiday. Brandon Miller, IT Manager! He served in the Marine Corps for over 9 years and deployed to Iraq in 2008 and Afghanistan in 2011. He was a helicopter mechanic, mainly working on Huey and Cobra helicopters.
St. Augustine Police Department Corporal Nick Argitis! He serves in the Florida Army National Guard as an Infantry and Finance Officer. Corporal Argitis is a Commander of the Finance Unit in St Augustine.
St. Augustine Municipal Marina Michael Bayne and Ray Maillo! Michael served as a Military Police Officer for the Navy and Ray served as a Military Police Officer for the U.S. Army.
Joshua Mckenzie, St. Augustine Fire Department Driver Engineer. He served in the US Army as a Military Police Officer for six and a half years. He went on three deployments – once to Afghanistan and twice to Iraq, where his job was to secure supply routes for troops and equipment, patrol combat areas, provide base and convoy security, and more.

City Commission welcomes Poet Laureate Norma SherryIntroduction scheduled for Monday, November 14On Monday, November 14, 2022, the City Commission will introduce the city’s first Poet Laureate, Norma Sherry, at the beginning of its regularly scheduled meeting, which starts at 5:00pm.
Sherry will represent the City of St. Augustine and the art of poetry through outreach by participating in City-sponsored events, dedications, or memorials. She will select and present original or appropriate works to be read aloud. For the full story, visit the City's website.

Night honorees named for 29th annual Nights of LightsEducators recognized for commitment to the future generation of our community The City is proud to announce the 2022 Nights of Lights Light-Up! Night ceremony honorees. Light-Up! Night is Saturday, November 19 with the lighting ceremony scheduled to begin at 6:30pm in the Plaza.

Free Park & Ride shuttle returns during Nights of Lights season
City will provide service starting on Light-Up! Night, Saturday, November 19 The City of St. Augustine Free Park and Ride shuttle returns for the peak dates of Nights of Lights, starting on Light-Up! Night, Saturday, November 19.
The Free Park & Ride shuttle service will continue on Friday and Saturday of Thanksgiving Weekend (November 25 & 26), the first three Saturdays in December, and the five days following Christmas, Monday, December 26 through Friday, December 30. For more information, visit the City's website.

City cancels ribbon-cutting ceremony for Project S.W.I.N.GAftermath of Tropical Storm Nicole, public safety takes priorityThe City of St. Augustine has cancelled the ribbon-cutting ceremony for Project S.W.I.N.G. on Friday, November 11 due to the forecasted impacts of Tropical Storm Nicole. Currently, an alternative date has not been scheduled.

Document shredding, used oil and electronics disposal offered at community recycle eventScheduled for Friday, November 18, in recognition of America Recycles Day The City of St. Augustine will host a special, free community recycle event on Friday, November 18, 2022, from 9:00am-1:00pm, at the Solid Waste Facility.
The City is offering an opportunity for City Utility customers to shred documents (5 box limit per resident), recycle outdated or broken electronic devices, and dispose of used cooking oil. For more information, check out the City's website.

Citizen Self Service Site UpgradesUsers Asked to Update their Accounts Before TOMORROW, November 12The City’s Citizen Self Service site will be unavailable on Saturday, November 12 while upgrades are implemented. After this upgrade, your username/user ID will change to the email address that is attached to your current self-service account.
If your current user account has a valid email address on it, you will log in with that email address and your current password. The system will already have your account established and various City accounts linked. If your current user account does not have a valid email address on it, you will need to create a new account. To ensure a seamless transition, it is strongly recommended that you check your current citizen self-service account to ensure you have a valid email address linked. Beginning Monday November 14, you may email Customer Service at or call (904) 825-1037 with any questions or issues related to the upgraded Citizen Self Service site.
