At the January 24, 2019, City Commission meeting, the commission scheduled several dates for upcoming workshops to discuss important topics outside of the regularly scheduled City Commission meetings.

The workshops are public meetings intended to provide City Commissioners an opportunity to discuss, with or without the presence or input of City boards, committees, consultants or staff, matters related to certain subjects requiring detailed study or clarification.  Workshops will be held in The Alcazar Room of City Hall, located at 75 King Street, and will be live-streamed at

Dates and times have been scheduled to discuss the following topics:

  • Sustainability:  Wednesday, February 19, 2:00pm – 4:00pm
  • Mobility:  Thursday, March 12, 2:00pm – 4:00pm
  • Mid-year budget/Strategic Plan/Growth and development discussions: Thursday, April 30, 2:00pm – 4:00pm

Additional workshops may be scheduled in the future as needed, by request of any Commissioner during a City Commission meeting, with the approval by majority vote or consensus of the City Commission.   The City Manager may suggest an item be set for a future workshop; however, it must be approved by a majority vote or consensus of the City Commission.  As required by Florida law, the workshop agenda and meeting minutes shall be made available to the public.  Agendas and minutes will be posted on the city’s website in addition to the posted calendar of all scheduled public meetings at

Questions may be directed to the City Clerk’s office via email at or by phone at 904.825. 1007.
