City offices closed Monday, January 15 in observance of MLK day

Solid Waste collection modified for Martin Luther King Jr. Day

City of St. Augustine offices will be closed on Monday, January 15 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. 

Residential yard waste collection will be suspended on Wednesday, January 17 to allow Solid Waste workers to be given the holiday off from work.

The week of January 15, the Solid Waste schedule is as follows:

  • Monday, January 15 – No residential garbage. Altered commercial garbage and recycling routes.
  • Tuesday, January 16 – Monday garbage route. Altered commercial and recycling routes.
  • Wednesday, January 17 – No brush collections. Tuesday garbage route. Altered commercial and recycling routes.
  • Thursday, January 18 – Normal residential recycling, and commercial garbage & recycling.
  • Friday, January 19 - Normal residential recycling, and commercial garbage & recycling.

 

Parking in city owned parking lots and on-street parking is free on all national holidays, including Martin Luther King Jr. Day, except for the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument and the Historic Downtown Parking Facility. City-owned parking lots and on-street parking will be free on Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, January 15, 2024.

Drivers are urged to confirm if a lot is owned by the City of St. Augustine and not a private operator as many of those lots have strict towing policies. Parking will be enforced for all vehicles parked illegally, including in areas reserved for delivery, franchised sightseeing vehicles and taxis, or vehicles on sidewalks or against yellow curbs.
