Reminders of Sing Out Loud Festival impacts this week

Road closures, parking, shuttles, solid waste, and more


On Friday, September 22 and Saturday, September 23, the Sing Out Loud Festival will host multiple performances on Francis Field as part of the month-long music festival and it will impact several City services and facilities’ operations as part of the event’s programming.  

Here is what you need to know:

Road Closures

Starting Wednesday, September 20, at midnight until Sunday, September 24 at 5:00am, N. Cordova Street, from Orange Street to the entrance to the Historic Downtown Parking Facility (HDPF) will be closed.  Access to the HDPF will be available from W. Castillo until 5:00am on Friday, September 22.

On Friday, September 22, the following road closures will be in place:

  • East bound W. Castillo from US1 will be closed at 5:00am until Sunday, September 24, at 5:00am.
  • West bound W. Castillo will be closed from 11:00am until 2:00am.
  • Riberia Street between W. Castillo and Orange Street will be closed, starting at 1:00am through Sunday at 5:00am.
  • Orange Street will be closed beginning at 3:00pm until 2:00am Saturday, September 23.

On Saturday, September 23, the following road closures will be in place:

  • West bound W. Castillo will be closed at 11:00am until 2:00am Sunday, September 24.             
  • Orange Street will be closed at 1:00pm until 2:00am, Sunday, September 24.


Parking: Garage and Shuttle Service

Starting Thursday, September 21, at 9:00pm through Sunday, September 24, at 2:00am the garage will be closed to the public.  Vehicular access on N. Cordova Street to the garage will be restricted as well at this time.

Free parking and shuttle service will be provided to the Visitor Information Center from three parking locations: 

  • 198 & 212 W. King St., located at the intersection of US1 and King Street
    1. Friday, 12:00pm – 2:00am
    2. Saturday, 11:00am – 2:00am
  • St. Johns County Health Department, 200 San Sebastian View
    1. Friday, 5:00pm – 2:00am
    2. Saturday, 11:00am – 2:00am
  • * San Marco Lot, 301 San Marco Ave.
    1. Friday, 12:00pm – 2:00am
    2. Saturday, 11:00am – 2:00am


Solid Waste

  • All residential garbage collections will remain on their regular scheduled days.
  • No residential yard debris collection on Wednesday, September 20.
  • Thursday’s residential recycling will be collected on Wednesday, September 20
  • Friday’s residential recycling will be collected on Thursday, September 21.
  • No residential recycling will be collected on Friday, September 22.

Oversized Vehicle Parking

Oversized vehicles can park at the Broudy’s Lot at 198 West King Street on the following dates:

  • September 14 – 21
  • September 24 - 28

Oversized vehicles will not be permitted to park at the Broudy’s Lot on Friday, September 22 and Saturday, September 23, to allow for passenger vehicle parking and shuttling to the Visitor Information Center.


STAR Circulator

STAR Circulator will conduct modified hours, operating from 10:00am to midnight on both Friday, September 22 and Saturday, September 23. 

The STAR Circulator will resume normal hours of operation, from 10:00am to 10:00pm, on Sunday, September 24.
