City Government Week observed October 17-23

COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR AND CITY COMMISSION

Celebrating importance of municipal government and the role it plays in residents’ quality of life

The City of St. Augustine will be joining cities throughout the state in celebrating Florida City Government Week from October 17-23, 2022.  Because city government is the government closest to most citizens, and the one with the most direct daily impact upon its residents, it is important that residents understand how their city operates, the services it provides, its contribution to a better quality of life, and the importance of their own active involvement.

This year, the City will promote the week with a 'day in the life' social media campaign, so stay tuned on Facebook to @CityStAug, @CityStAugArchaeology, @CityStAugFire, @CityStAugMarina, and @StAugPD. In addition, be sure to follow the same handles on Instagram to keep track of the campaign.

Florida City Government Week, sponsored by the Florida League of Cities, is a weeklong celebration that raises awareness about the importance of municipal government and its daily impact on residents. The League is the official organization of the municipal governments in Florida.
