Offices for the City of St. Augustine will be closed Thursday and Friday, December 24 – 25, and on Friday, January 1, 2021, in observance of the Christmas and New Year's Day holidays.
Parking in City-owned parking lots and on-street parking is free on Thursday, December 24, since Christmas Eve has been declared a federal holiday. A friendly reminder to place real, unadorned holiday trees curbside on Wednesdays during vegetative/yard waste collection. In order to divert the trees for proper recycling such as mulch, all ornaments, lights, tinsel or other decorations must be removed from the tree, including the stand. Artificial trees and all holiday décor should be placed with household garbage.
Light strands should not be disposed of in household recycle bins; however, they will be accepted at the Used Oil and Electronics Recycling Event on Wednesday, January 6, 2021.
For more information about holiday lights and tree recycling, contact Solid Waste at 904.825.1049, ext. 2, or send an email to email@example.com.
We are ready to ring in the new year with our annual after-the-holidays used cooking oil and electronics recycling event. In 2020, we collected nearly 50 gallons of used cooking oil and an entire trailer of electronics. We challenge YOU to beat these numbers and bring in even more items for recycling in 2021!
Bring your recycling items on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 from 7:30am - 2:30pm to Francis Field, 25 W. Castillo Dr. or 840 West 16th Street, Anastasia Island (Behind Parks & Rec Office).
