Starting on Monday, October 19, and continuing through Friday, October 30, the city’s Public Works Department will inspect manholes in several areas in the city as part of sanitary sewer collection system testing. Then starting on Monday, November 2, and continuing through Friday, November 20, smoke testing of the sanitary sewer system will take place in other areas of the city. Specific basin areas are noted in the attachment.
The week of November 16 through November 20 has been set aside for any weather delays or unforeseen interruptions in progress. From November 23 through November 30, there may be possible installation of inflow dishes and final clean-out.
The smoke test is performed periodically in order to identify sources of storm water runoff or ground water intrusion entering the city’s sewage collection system.
Properties in the affected areas are being notified with door hangers. View the area map, project details flyer, and learn more about the process and importance of smoke testing here.
