Fire Department Employment
The City is currently accepting applications for the position of firefighter.
Please submit all applications via email to firstname.lastname@example.org, via fax at 904-825-1008 or mailed to P.O. Box 210, St. Augustine, FL 32085. Our offices are opened to the public and we are accepting in person applications.
Requirements for Employment Eligibility
A high school diploma is required. You must have successfully completed the Tri-County Test or Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) for firefighter within the 12 months prior to applying and possess a State of Florida Bureau of Fire Standards and Training Certificate of Compliance and minimum State of Florida Emergency Medical Technician Certification.
In addition, the City of St. Augustine prefers the completion of the National Testing Network (NTN) FireTEAM exam. To register with NTN and schedule a test, go to www.nationaltestingnetwork.com, select ‘Find Jobs’, then select Firefighter Jobs and sign up for St. Augustine Fire Department.

- Complete the NTN registration process and schedule your test.
Review all information related to the City of St. Augustine’s firefighter position including minimum requirements, salary, and benefits.
Review detailed information about the testing process.
Review the Frequently Asked Questions and take an online practice test (if desired).
The City will be hosting an NTN FireTEAM exam on January 8, 2021 at the Galimore Center (399 S. Riberia Street, St. Augustine, FL 32084). Upon completion of your scheduled exam, scores are automatically forwarded to the City of St. Augustine. Candidates who attain a passing score on the entry level exam will be placed on the City’s eligibility list. The City of St. Augustine will select candidates on the list and have them to participate in the steps in the selection process.
National Testing Network is a service provided to conduct entry level testing in a standardized, professional environment. National Testing Network does not replace the City of St. Augustine’s responsibility and decision making in the testing process. All candidate results are provided to the City of St. Augustine where the final decisions are made.
