Event to highlight building’s history, preservation and restoration for future use
Ever wonder about the old brick building next to the Main Library and the carousel on San Marco Avenue? On Saturday, September 29, at 10:30am, Jenny Wolfe, Historic Preservation Officer for the City of St. Augustine, will offer a free presentation at the library, followed by a guided tour of this historic building.
Built in 1898 as the city’s first water works pumping station, the city has recently undertaken major construction efforts to stabilize, rehabilitate, and restore the significant historic features of the building, through funding by Florida Bureau of Historic Preservation grants and matching funds provided by the city.
For more information about the Waterworks building, contact Jenny Wolfe at 904.209.4326, or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
